Definitely not a place to come see you if you cannot order in Spanish but it is absolutely delicious! Pupusas were on point. I've been back several times.

Very good papusas, and plenty of cabbage salad (this probably has a different name, my apologies). Nice people who will help you if you don't speak their language in kind of a hole in the wall atmosphere. This is a fun place to come to once or ever so often, but won't make my regular lunch rotation.  I probably just don't love papusas, and would take an arepa down the street most days.

I definitely recommend trying it, it definitely won't set you back very much.

Pupusas are what you come to this place for and of course I love their horchata, it tastes homemade and not like the drink mix and lot of places have. Eating areas could be tidy up a bit as well as the restroom, but the food quality is great.

Checking in today, April 20, 2019 and customer service will definitely make you want to get up and leave. No one greets you, waitress just stares blankly instead of helping you order or trying to suggest even if there is a language barrier. If we didn't love the pupusas we would not come back.

The restaurant shares a space with Bruster's at the corner of Jimmy Carter and Buford Highway. The place is definitely a hole in the wall, but definitely has a homey feel to it. The food is definitely great and delicious. My go to order is El Guanaco and for someone like me who eats a lot, El Guanaco is surely a generous amount of food that will definitely fill you up. What makes this enjoyable to eat is that it covers your bases - refried beans, cheese, scrambled eggs, sweet plantains, avocados, meats and of course tortilla. Pretty much a sampler's plate. The only downside is when the place gets busy, it tends to take a lot longer for the food and depending on the waitress, it may be longer.

I hate to give a bad review, but this is not the place for non Spanish speaking customers. I was over looked three times to be seated, I guess the guy at the counter finally saw me and asked me in Spanish if I was eating here or ordering to-go. I told him eating here and he pointed to a dirty booth for me to sit in. I sat down and watched the waitress never acknowledge me, I even tried to make eye contact with her. I sat there for ten minutes at a dirty table and I was never acknowledged. I doubt I will be back.

I did end up going back in and ordered to-go(please be prepared to wait it took about 20 minutes for my order). I ordered a three pupusa combo, an order of plantains with creama, and a horchata, which was $10.05( great price for a good amount of food).

My pupusa's came with two red sauces(one is spicy and one is not spicy) and a ziplock bag of slaw with jalapeños (it is not hot). My pupusa was stuffed with meat and cheese, the flavor was average and it was room temperature by the time I received it( I ate it in the parking lot). My plantains were too mushy for me and so greasy they were not editable. All and all the food was ok, but just not worth the hassle for me. Which is why I gave them two stars.
